About me
I am an astronomer by background and training. After finishing my PhD I worked for many years in the UK in science policy and scholarly communication. I moved to the Netherlands in 2015.
Experience
I joined NWO in October 2019 as Senior Policy Advisor Open Science. As part of this role, I developed and implemented the NWO Open Science Fund, a new funding instrument to stimulate Open Science and to reward and recognise researchers who are or want to be at the forefront of this movement.
In January this year I joined Open Science NL, the new regieorgaan at NWO, as Program Leader Open Research Software. Open Science NL's mission is to advance and accelerate Open Science in the Netherlands with the goal of making Open Science the norm.
At NWO, I am currently responsible for our research data management policy and for implementing the NWO Persistent Identifier Strategy developed in 2021 in collaboration with SURF. I am also part of the NWO-wide project team on recognition and rewards.
In March 2022 I was elected Chair of the Science Europe Working Group on Open Science, a position I currently hold.
