This is the newsletter from the online ‘Recognition & Rewards’ platform.
Dear colleague,
Soon, the time will come for us to take to the stage together. Hopefully that will fit.
In the spirit of team science, it’s certainly fitting. During the Recognition & Rewards Festival ‘Taking the stage’ on 12 November in Amersfoort, everyone who holds Recognition & Rewards close to their heart will come together to reap the rewards, reflect and gaze into the crystal ball of the future.
To build up some advance excitement, we’ve set up a festival page on RRview, featuring a selection of real-life examples and in-depth stories. More on that further on.
Please note: there are still a few places available; registration closes next Tuesday, 2 November. Have you let all your colleagues know, or have you managed to find a slot in your own diary after all? If so, sign up for the festival at the last minute! See you in Amersfoort.
The festival day will be divided into three parts. In the morning, we’ll try to reflect on why it was necessary to get moving in the first place. We’ll look back, share insights and also reflect on the special experiments that have resulted from this. In this article, you can read ahead about the unconventional scientific collaboration between Daniël Lakens and Sajedeh Rasti, who will be delivering a keynote speech.

For the showcase market – the bustling heart of the festival – it’s well worth taking a look at the programme in advance. There’s a huge range on offer! Nearly thirty interactive presentations will give you a vivid insight into compelling examples, relevant dilemmas and topical issues. The topics will be spread across two rounds. Combined with one of the three in-depth themed sessions, this offers a rich and in-depth exploration of the Recognition & Rewards movement.
Among the series of special highlights, we must of course not fail to mention the visit by Rianne Letschert, Minister for Education, Culture and Science. Her involvement with Recognition & Rewards has been a driving force behind her professional development, as we learn from this lovely short video from 2019. We are very keen to see what new perspective she brings to the programme in her current role.
